LOCATION: WHITTIER, CA
This position is on-site, with the potential for a hybrid telework schedule as permitted under the Districts' Telework Policy.
The Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Supervising Systems Analyst. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
To supervise multiple computer technology project work groups consisting of professional level and support staff members; and to analyze, research, recommend and develop complex hardware, software, network and telecommunication systems for Districts' user sections and departments.
JOB SUMMARY:
The major job responsibilities are listed below.
Under the direction of an Information Technology Supervisor, the incumbent will:
Plan, organize, coordinate, and monitor work in support of major information technology infrastructure in the following areas: network and telecommunications, Azure, physical and virtual desktops, mobile devices, data integrity and storage management, backup and recovery, surveillance camera technology, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and document management systems
Complete high-level system feasibility studies and requirements analyses to determine needs, and cost-benefit analysis to evaluate business value
Perform system reviews to ensure conformance to Information Technology standards
Consult with vendors to resolve system and infrastructure issues
Participate in the selection, evaluation, and discipline of employees supervised, pursuant to established Districts' and Human Resources Department policies and procedures
Assist in setting and achieving the Technical Services Group's goals and objectives aligned with Information Technology's mission statement and core functions
Provide technical advice to professional staff and oversee their training
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must possess all of the following:
- A valid California Class C driver license
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related field from an accredited college
- Status as Senior Systems Analyst with recent experience in systems analysis; OR Five (5) years of experience in computer systems analysis, including one (1) year of supervisory experience. A master's degree in computer science or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of non-supervisory experience
Desirable qualifications:
- Excellent planning, organization, and documentation skills
- Experience with IT infrastructure including network, telecommunications, and datacenter operations
- Experience with Cloud infrastructure management
