Description

This position is responsible for managing an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) team comprised of a supervisor and staff, including Data Architects, Data Engineers, Database Developers, and other roles. Looking for two (2) positions. One role will support Architecture/Build/Integration and one will support Operations.
Architecture/Build/Integration: Evaluates, builds, and implements new capabilities that deliver a modern, reliable, and scalable analytics ecosystem. Maintains oversight over technical choices, development of software code, EDW configuration, and infrastructure set up. Supports the EDW Operations team in resolution of critical EDW issues. Plans and executes regular additions to EDW data sources and analytics capabilities as per roadmap. Leads the continued transition of EDW to cloud architecture and support non-EDW teams beginning their cloud transition.
Operations: Evaluates and implements new capabilities for data quality, data sharing, and EDW monitoring, as well as maintaining applications used by various analytic teams. Maintains oversight over technical choices, development of software code, EDW monitoring, and application and infrastructure set up. Oversees any production issues related to EDW and related applications and components and provide support in resolution of critical EDW-related issues. Plans and executes regular additions to EDW data feeds, monitoring, quality, and monitoring as per roadmap.
Candidates hired for remote positions must reside in Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho, Arizona, or Nevada.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Thorough knowledge of system development methodologies
  • Technical knowledge in the areas of modern EDW architecture, production support, and vendor management
    • BUILD TEAM only: Data engineering
      • Ability to manage and report on complex EDW subjects and analytic capabilities to internal and external leaders and partners
    • OPERATIONS TEAM only: Data quality, monitoring, application administration
      • Ability to manage and report on EDW monitoring, data quality, and application administration to and external leaders and partners
  • Expert knowledge of managing and leading Agile teams
  • Strong knowledge of Managed Care concepts and Health Plan business processes preferred
  • Strong understanding of Medicaid and Medicare programs preferred
  • Ability to manage architectural direction and drive modernization of business-critical systems
  • Ability to effectively develop and convey team goals and plans, ensuring integration into strategic plans and initiatives
  • Ability to develop and lead high performing team members, including hiring, goal setting, coaching, performance management, and development
  • Ability to inspire and manage teams in support of continuous improvement related to complex, business critical systems
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with business, community, and internal management groups
Requirements:
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory position
  • Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience, including recent experience in the following areas:
    • Leading cross functional teams with Data Architects, Data Engineers, and Database Developers
    • Leading teams through the re-architecture of business-critical systems
    • Leading teams through cloud migration of business-critical systems
    • Leading change with-in team and across the enterprise
    • Leading and maturing a service organization in an environment of diverse stakeholders and dynamic priorities
    • Establishing and managing the sun model for support and in utilizing onshore/offshore resources to successfully augment team capacity 
    • Experience with Agile frameworks 
    • Experience working in health care payer/managed care organizations:
      • BUILD TEAM only: Leading teams accountable for EDW systems design, implementation, and support
      • OPERATIONS TEAM only: Leading teams accountable for EDW operations, data quality, and administration of applications used for analytics
Preferred:
  • Experience with Snowflake and MS Azure cloud specifically utilizing Data Factory, Azure Functions and Data Lake / Blob Store
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Services, or technology related field
  • PMP or other project management training and experience in managing large projects
